Hello,
I am talkling from São Paulo, Brasil, earlier today I was walking by a TIM kiosk on a shoping mall and I received it by bluetooth on my nokia 3650, lucklly I found it suspicious and canceled it b4 it isntalled (I think), checking for all the files described on the manual removal guides I found none, but still, the name of the sender was "Seu Troxa" which could be  somewhat of portuguese translation of russian "OTMOP03KAM HET!", which acording to F-secure description translates to english as "No to braindeads", aparently the virus now can be changed (perhaps one those "virus kits" for script kiddies) which may indicate it may also have diferent behavior and file locations...
I also would like to add that the guy behind the counter rin the kiosk answered me very rudelly when I sugested him to take a look in the devices in the kiosk looking for some infection source, I am not sure if the infected device was one of the devices on the display or one of the persons around the kiosk was the holder of the "vector", but still it might have infect one of the devices on display...

How can i remove the commwarrior virus in my phone?
Posted:  09 Oct 2006 15:41
For educated laymen this is the easiest way to remove CommWarrior:
1. Update the antivirus that you use on your PC (Yes, PC)
2. Backup your phone book, calender and SMSes on to your memory card or synchronise with MS Outlook.
3. Remove your Memory card from your phone and reset the phone using *#7370#
4. Insert your Memory Card into your card reader and from Windows Explorer right-click on the removable drive and select scan with antivirus. Select the Virus files detected and select Heal/Fix/Delete.
5. Re-insert your memory card, start your phone and restore your files. This worked with McAfee Enterprise edition.Do not format your memory card needlessly.

Procedure to remove commwarrior from Nokia 66xx which is proved beyond doubt.
This or similar prodecure might be useful for other .sis phones.
Please follow this procedure:
1]  Take out memory card.
2]Charge battery full.
3]Press and HOLD a) 'send' button on top left (green). b) Digit "3" button c) '*' button.
4]You may require assistance from another person for next stage. Keep holding the three buttons as mentioned above  and now press
Power on button (at top) to switch phone power on.Keep holding   ALL FOUR buttons.
5]Now should now see a change in screen.A black strip starts from left to right and you should see the words "formatting" written.
6] You can now release all buttons and relax.Soon the formatting is complete.
7]Your phone is now free from virus and adwares.
----------
Additional steps to be taken:
1]Scan and format your memory card using a card reader with the help of  antivirus installed in computer.
2]Insert the memory card in phone. Format it again using using built-in software of phone ,click 'card memory'..
3]Your phone is now ready for normal use .

HOW TO REMOVE COMMWARIOR VIRUS IN NOKIA N70 or similar phones.

It was a mess my phone was infected by this virus via bluetooth. I've done a lot of 'digging' and fortunately, I managed to remove it from my phone without the need to visit the NOKIA (SMART Center) without paying their extra charges (Virus infected phones not covered by warranty as our provider says).

Here's how I fixed and removed the virus:
1.0 DO NOT try yet to format your phone. Formatting your phone will remove all your files, all phone numbers, videos and etc. TURN YOUR CELLPHONE OFF.
2.0 Download the f-commwarrior anti-virus software first from the F-SECURE site http://www.f-secure.com/tools/f-commwarrior.sis to your COMPUTER and NOT directly to your phone. Using your phone during downloading of the anti-virus will provide the VIRUS enough time to propagate if your phone is open and probably hang your cellphone. You have to reboot it again and again when the virus propagates enough.
3.0 Remove the extra memory (my phone is the music edition with 1GByte memory).
4.0 Turn on your cell phone. Using the NOKIA PC Suite (I hope this is already installed using the CD provided by your phone to your computer), install the F-Commwarrior to your phone immediately when your phone is already 'ON' or active using the USB cable to your phone from the computer. Visit this site for more information on F-Commwarrior: ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/anti-virus/tools/f-com ...

5.0 When installed already here's the disinfection procedure:
5.1 Make sure that you have all applications closed
5.2 Select "Deactivate Commwarrior" from menu
5.3 If Commwarrior is found phone boots immediately after disinfection
5.4 After reboot download and install
F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus From http://mobile.f-secure.com, the same procedure in STEP 2.
5.5 Scan your phone and delete all
infected files.

The F-Commwarrior deactivates Commwarrior.A, Commwarrior.B and Commwarrior.C worms from Symbian S60 phones.

Please note that this tool is not an antivirus product. It just deactivates the worm and boots the phone
so that Commwarrior is no longer running on the phone. This tool is intended to give user time to download
Anti-Virus without spreading the worm further.

For cleaning up the phone, use F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus, which offers real time protection against harmful content and automatic wireless updates.

F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus is available from http://mobile.f-secure.com or short link http://phoneav.com

I hope this helps everyone who have an N70 phone infected with COMMWARRIOR...
