Commwarrior Spreading in Philippines and Finland
[Category: Cell Phone Viruses - News] | Permalink
Journalist Jarius Bondoc wrote an interesting article about his personal experience with Commwarrior.
You can find it at Philstar.com - Virus spreading via cell phones.
This part really got my attention :
I asked the other victims at the Nokia shop if their units were still working. All said yes, aside from pesky warnings about unsent messages and corrupted files. Disinfecting took two hours because there were so many of us.
There were so many of us! It means they have real problem there and it is not very encouraging for all of us.
Some publishers think that cell phone viruses threat is over-hyped . I really wonder what would the people in the line at the Nokia shop tell them.
F-Secure company also published info, that Commwarrior was spotted in Finland. It gives six countries where was Commwarrior seen in the wild - Ireland, India, Oman, Italy, Philippines and Finland.
